When Honda turned 50-years-old, it gifted itself the S2000. The now-iconic roadster was released in 1999 to near-universal praise. For the next ten years, it was one of the most recognizable cars on the road. In 2009, Honda pulled the plug. Roadsters were out of fashion, and the automaker adapted to the times.

Now in 2019, Honda is celebrating the S2000, showcasing the classic car with a transparent body. The see-through beauty was shown off at Honda's owner meetings at the Twin Ring Motegi racetrack. Those with knowledge of the inner workings of roadsters were blown away.

There's no reason to lift the hood of this beast when you can see exactly what makes it tick - from the revolutionary high output NA four-cylinder engine to the double-wishbone suspension system - every beautiful part is there.

Of course, this isn't the first time Honda has shown off the S2000 with a transparent body kit. The year after the car launched, the automaker took it on a world tour. When the car's production run ended in 2009, we thought this specially modified kit had, too.

Perhaps bringing the car back out for its 20th anniversary is a hint at bigger things to come. Would you buy a brand new S2000?
